this is my second pregnancy but with my first i had a scheduled c section at 38 weeks due to my daughter being breech the entire pregnancy! so ive no idea what to expect and dont remember any of these things im having now with my first.
im 38 weeks pregnant, i have hurrendous back ache which ive had for weeks, im getting about 15 braxton hicks a day which ive been getting for months but they are starting to get more painful and uncomfortable now.
i am having thee most awful shooting pains right down through my privates, mostly when im standing but i get them lying down too, they literally knock me off my feet. ive been having a lot of discharge (thick and white)
and ive explained all this to my midwife and got nothing! she couldnt have got me out the door quick enough and fobbed me off with yeah thats normal..
so this morning i decided i would maybe check things myself (i know its probably not recommended and i dont need any lectures thanks) i made sure i cleaned and disinfected my hands and inserted a finger to see if i could feel my cervix to see if anything was happening (midwife wouldnt examine me because she said it was up to my consultant to do that) anyways... i was really reallly shocked to feel my cervix so so low, its literally just past the entrance!! i wasnt sure if this was definatley it but from what ive researched it is.. it had a little slit in it and i got a bit of a fright when my finger almost popped through it! it felt all very spongy and soft, but what concerned me was how low it was! is this normal? should the cervix be low before labour? and if so is that an indication that it could be soon???
im close to tears today, my two year old is trying to wind me right up and i feel nauseus and extremely fatigued, im so so fed up and i suppose im wonderin or really hopein that any of these things could mean im not far off labor?? im having a vbac this time and im so excited to have the chance to give birth naturally this time, im just so exhausted now, if anyone has any similiar symptoms or anything positive to tell me id really appreciate it, thanks for reading xx
