Yesterday I was woken up by painful contractions at about 430am. They lasted for about 2 hours, and reached c. 7 minutes apart. Then they vanished. Then they came back. Then they vanished...yadda yadda...

At the same time I'm getting brown discharge (nice!) which apparently is my 'show' (went to hospital because it looked just like brown blood, nothing textbook stringy about it), which doesn't seem to be moving out in any real amounts.

Today, contractions happening once or twice each hour...a bit more,....a bit less.

At 41w + now I'm getting a bit bored of all of the waiting. When will I actually GIVE BIRTH!?!

For God's sake, please tell me your uplifting stories.

I can tell you that you will give birth, its a given. Absolutely no-one on here can tell you when.

Being that they induce you before 42 weeks you will have a baby by this time next week.
I had about a week of sharp pains until I finally went into labour however the only reason labour waited that long is because my sister was in the country. The minute her plane took off back home my waters broke.

actually the OP doesn't have to be induced if she doesn't want to. so not necessarily a given that she'll have a baby this time next week!

however, it does sound like things are moving, so you probably will OP :)
your body is warming up and getting ready. soemtimes it's a bit stop-start if baby is trying to get into a good position, so i guess keep active if you can, make lots of plans- babies always come when you have something else to do Wink

Er....sherbert... I know this!!!!

Can you not re- reply with a 'omg, this happened to me. Within 3 hours of (home therapy of choice) I was in hospital in active labour'

Yes. In short, lie to me people.

actually, joking aside, this DID happen to me with DS3.

then I woke up in the early hours of the morning having a mega contraction and he was born 48 minutes later.

s'true, my birth story is on here somewhere

You have my sympathies.

40+3. Had show 2 days ago but nothing else at all. Booked for induction next Friday but really hoping that things happen before then.

Crikey it's boring isn't it?
Watching the west wing - beginning to feel like I work there.

Yesterday- seriously? 48 minutes? Presumably a(n unexpected?) home birth?
