ELCS: How long did you stay on painkillers and how long did you bleed for?

I had ELCS 3wks ago tomorrow, recovery is going well I think. Have been taking it easy and keeping up with pain meds ala the good advice on here.
Sooo, the Diflonectic (?) I was prescribed by the hospital has finished now, so I've been on paracetamol only - and I can feel a big difference today in the scar area. How long did others remain on the drugs for? I've taken ibruprofen but its not as good.
Bleeding has stopped, unless I go for a walk (and I haven't been far) when the bleeding comes back (like a period) 24 hours later....does anyone know how long this will continue for?
I have been taking it easy :)

You can get Voltarol over e counter (whih is diclofenac) if yo are finding nurofen not enough.

Fwiw I bled for around 6 weeks boh times (2 ELCS) but was off regular meds within days and totally off within a week to 10 days and I dd noake it easy either time. Maybe you could take trip to the GP (they might give you more diclofennac).

I took the codeine based painkillers for about a month or maybe a bit longer. Your GP should prescribe more so that they're free.

I only bled for about 10 days, but I think that's very quick to stop. If you're bleeding after exercise, I'd try to take it even easier :)

I took my painkillers religiously every 4 hours - paracetamol and over the counter codeine (8mg, so 16mg in the dose) for two weeks. Stopped codeine and just had paracetamol into the 3rd week, then after that just meds when I felt twingey.

Lochia bleed was 5 weeks; one week's grace then my period at week 6 (bottlefed after first week).

Week 3 is still super-early, recovery wise. Take it easy. 6 weeks is te benchmark and you will feel progressively better each day but remember that it takes approx 12 weeks for tissues to knit back together again.

Thanks all, think its easy to think you're better than you are with this. Bleeding after a 20 min walk is a warning I think, so I'll go back to docs for another prescription and continue to doss around bf on the sofa for another few wks. Dh has got me sessions with personal trainer but that seems like a long way off at the minute ...

I am a week post elcs.

I am taking paracetamol and feeling mostly normal - walked to tescos and back ten mins each way yesterday. Just did it very slowly!!
The midwives said the bleeding down below would probably increase as I got more active but that it was a sign things were going back to normal inside (uterus contracting).

I did bleed a bit more yesterday but my stomach has gone down significantly (!) So maybe that's normal!?

I was taking diclo-whatever it is but it gave me terrible runs!! So I stopped.

I was one of the lucky ones with recovery I think - stopped taking the strong stuff after 5 days and went onto just paracetamol. Felt well enough after 7 days to walk the 2 miles to my Nan's house! In retrospect though I shouldnt have done that and was sore after.

I bled heavily for about 5 days, then brownish like a 2 or 3 day old period for about 6 weeks

With both ELCSs I bled for about 5-6 weeks.

I took painkillers for about two weeks first time and a week second time. I would have no qualms about taking painkillers for as long as I need them though.

I had my section 3weeks & 3days ago. I'm still on painkillers, iron ( for blood loss) and antibiotics as i have an infection in part of my scar.
I have to have a shop mobilty when i go out as i cant walk about round shops without being sore. im ok around the house though, but that maybe due to my infection. I am still bleeding now.
