Hello all, would like some advice from anyone who has had a previous c-section and have delivered at Worthing with other babies after. I had my DS about 4 years ago via elective c-section as he was a transverse lie. I have moved from where we lived when I had him to Durrington and I am booked into seeing a MW and OB at Worthing this my second pregnancy.

I did state to my midwife at my booking appointment that I would like another elective but I wanted to know what is this hospitals policly on VBACS and ELCS? I have searched but cannot find anything on this. I am due to see the MW in a couple of weeks and the OB in September.

I have been looking through the NICE guildlines and also the RCOG info that they have on their site and have found both very informitive.

If anyone that has had simular expirience could give me advice I would be very greatful

Thanks in advance :)

No idea about Worthing but I had a VBAC at home after an elective C section (breech) and it was great. My midwives were fantastic though, I couldn't have done it without their support.

Thanks for your input Cureall, I have no desire to have a VBAC though. I have made up my mind 110% certain I would like a repeat c-section. Not knowing much about this hospital I'd like to know where I stand on this with them. If anyone has any info I'd be grateful

Hi I had emergency c-sect 4 yrs ago. Reason given was pelvic disproportion. Was surprised but pleased that midwife this time didn't even feel need to discuss vbac as just assumed I would have c-sect. Unfortunately consultant felt I should consider vbac. He then gave me some really scary literature which at the end of the day said although only a small statistical difference a c-sect is safer for both me and the baby ! So I will be pushing for c-sect too ! ( 1 in 200 chance of scar rupturing ending in maternal death with vbac and 0.1% risk of brain damage to baby with sect but 0.2% with vbac)
