im now 39 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby im under the consultant as baby is looking a bit on the big side. i had to go back for extra growth scans where his abdominal measurements are very big. at my consultant appointment i had at 37 weeks i found her very rude didnt really answer my questions wanted me in and out basically. my little girl was only 6lbs 10.5 and a week early but i had complications during birth and needed a forceps delivery i DO NOT want forceps again and even tho the consultant reassured me i wouldnt need forceps im scared i cant get a large baby out as at 37 weeks his estimated weight was already 7 and a half pound and hes only going to get bigger. on my notes on the growth chart hes above the top line. she said boys are generally bigger and "i can push him out" and asked me to go back this week (39 weeks) but didnt tell me why. also for 3 weeks now iv had severe diarreah every day and night as soon as i eat it goes straight through me. im so uncomfortable im drained because i cant eat properly cant sleep properly and trying to look after a one year old on top of it all is making me feel very down and depressed. iv stopped going out unless i need to incase i suddenly need the toilet. midwifes/consultants dont seem to want to help me iv been having painful contractions over the past 2 weeks that always stop aswell. iv tried having paracetemol which makes the toilet issue worse even the soluble sort. really dont know what to do. could i ask to be induced when i see my consultant at 39 +2 ???

Hayley, sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. Feel reassured that the wait is nearly over!

I doubt that your consultant will consider inducing early for a bigger-sized baby. My son measured bigger on his last scan and I was concerned he would be too big to push too. The consultant would not consider inducing me early for the size. I did end up being induced at 39 weeks as I developed preeclampsia and my not-as-big-as-expected baby (8lb 4oz) was born by caesarean, as my induction failed to progress. From my experience induction is not always the best option!

Wishing you the best for a safe delivery!
