For ladies who are considering giving birth in C&W!

I made it there yesterday thinking the baby was gonna drop out of me at 31 weeks. Heavy feeling pressing down every 5 mins....

I called the Kensington Wing and they said to come in straight away ....
They said there would be a long wait as they were very busy and apologised constantly ...i only had to wait 30 mins if that when i got there...excellent lovely staff...the midwives were lovely ...very genuine and helpful and did all to make everything comfortable for us ...

I am under the care of Keith Duncan but Roshni Patel was covering...
She was to the point, thorough, very very careful and considerate and very clear
i felt like i was in amazingly good hands with very friendly and smiling staff...
i was checked thoroughly and re assured it was just a naughty and very tall baby ...

When I first registered to give birth there i was not impressed with the admin staff at all ...
but the carers ..all the midwives and dr roshni patel and keith duncan are lovely...very good at what they do and listen to you respectfully !!!!!

i was extremely nervous bout my c section but having been there yesterday i feel so much more assured....hope the same midwives will be there on my big day

Please feel free to ask any queestions bout the hosp or doctors as i am getting to see them frequently ...
REcommend it

Hi. I'm new to Mumsnet, but had to write as I agree 100% with Billy.

I was booked at the Kensington Wing and had my Ds 3 weeks ago. I was booked with Nick Wales (who has been great) but was actually also delivered by Roshni Patel.

She was so kind and caring and explained everything carefully. I felt I was in really safe hands. I had a normal delivery and only a couple of stitches, which are mending. I was really glad to have her and being delivered by a woman felt right. In retrospect, I wish I'd been with a woman all along. She was really lovely and visited me after the birth and just chatted in a friendly way and gave me practical baby advice.

She has also delivered one of the girls in my ANC who was booked on the NHS. She thinks Miss Patel was amazing too and told me she saved her life. She gave me and the other girl lots of attention. I'll probably book with Roshni Patel next time.

Unit great too. Nice friendly midwives. No issues.
