After a tricky premature birth I've been on the ward for 5 days and the staff have been AMAZING. What present can I get for all of them, is a big box of chocs the done thing? Am feeling tearily grateful and want to kiss them all but think will manage to restrain myself if I can buy them something!

I always go down the food route! How about a big tin of biscuits or box of chocolates?

The first time Ds was on children's ward he was in for 10 days so we asked the staff what they would like - they answered "proper tea and coffee and some biscuits" as they where just given cheap hospital stuff.

So we took in a load of decent tea bags, coffee, some hot chocolate and then a load of biscuits.

We handed in a case of wine! Helps that my dad works for a wine company mind you!!

oooo yes posh tea and a mountain of nice biscuits would be a great idea, better than chocs I wld say - congrats on your arrival.

I used to work on a maternity ward. Biscuits, choc and cakes were always very much appreciated!
