Upset stomach at 40 + 3 does it mean anything?

I have had an awful upset tummy plus diarrhea since last night. Is this likely to be coincidence or could it be signalling the start of labour ? I also notice that baby is wriggling lots at same time as tummy feels bad.... ?

Could be the start of labour :) I had this with dd2. Was constipated with dd1, so no squits, but with dd2 I had an upset tummy, and then things started to roll.
Good Luck, and keep us posted x

JumpJockey · 04/06/2012 14:09

Often it can be an early sign - I had to dash to the ladies while showing my potential maternity cover candidates around at work (!) to throw up, and 48 hours later DD2 arrived - I only recognised this later as a sign because she was a month early and didn't think anything of it at the time. Apparently your body often decides to empty itself of 'unnecessary' things so you can concentrate on labour instead. Good luck!

Oooooh, it could be the start.
They say your body tries to 'rid' itself of waste material to prepare you....

Good luck...............!

That happened to me 12 hours later I had DS although I had been having contractions for 2 days before. Good luck Grin

MrsMcEnroe · 04/06/2012 14:29

Yes this happened to me with DC1 - I was 40+5 and had upset stomach at bedtime, then woke up 4 hours later in labour Grin

Good luck!!

yes, it's known that you 'clear out' before labour. I did have this and get excited and the baby was still in at 40+11 though... so it's not a sure thing. sorry

Sloobreeus · 04/06/2012 19:52

I also had diahorrea at the beginning of all three labours. Good luck Jan!

Just5minspeace · 04/06/2012 20:13

Was a sign for my 3. Good luck!

Hmmm.....there is a 90% chance this will turn into a live labour thread within 24 hours.

Am marking my place, fetching towels and hot water and sticking the whale music CD on.

janmk · 06/06/2012 15:52

I am effaced, 2 cm with bulging membranes??? Is that good ?

OP posts:
GnocchiNineDoors · 06/06/2012 15:55

If your membranes are bulging, a good ol' bounce on the birthing ball should get things moving. Eeeek, could be mere hours away.

GnocchiNineDoors · 06/06/2012 15:56

I think I read somewhere too that if your membranes are bulging it can helo quicken dilation due to the pressure.

Im no MW though.

janmk · 06/06/2012 15:56

Going to opt for some steam mopping of the floor first ! X

OP posts:
GnocchiNineDoors · 06/06/2012 15:58

Grin do you regularly steam mop or are you nesting? My word, this could be my second live labour thread in the last 5 days.

janmk · 06/06/2012 15:59
