braxton hicks shouldn't really hurt, should they?

39+2 and fed up.

Having braxton hicks every 5-10 mins for past day, but they are now coinciding with period like pains for a couple of hours. Today/tonight would be least convenient time.for baby to arrive as Friday is only day we have no childcare.for ds.

Spent this morning with upset gut on toilet, then this afternoon throwing up, but other than that no sign that labour is imminent. Ds was 6 days late, and induced after 2 days of painful but useless contractions, so not sure what to look out for!

Could this be the start, or more likely beginning of long latent phase.just to piss me off?

Um, sounds like the start of labour to me.... Any update this morning?

SoupDragon · 01/06/2012 07:06

Sounds like labour to me too. All three of mine started with period pins like that.

no news Angry

stupid body.

it carried on until about 2 am, then tailed off and I got some sleep. Has started again though this morning, but I'm pretending nothing is happening and taking DS to playgroup, as otherwise I'll just be a fury at home whilst sweet FA happens. grump.

Ah well, won't be long now!

Wigglewoo · 01/06/2012 15:38

I've had this on and off for the last 2 weeks (am nearly 38 wks now). I think it's all par for the course... I'm just hoping mine doesn't turn into proper labour as I'm booked in to have an elective c section in a week and a half!

Kveta · 01/06/2012 15:43

oh how annoying for you wiggle!

I didn't have a single braxton hicks with DS, but this time around have felt them since about 16 weeks. odd! I'm being induced on the 12th anyway, so guess she'll be out before too long. just doesn't feel like a short wait when you're this pg, does it?!

Good luck for your induction Kveta :)

Yep it's driving me crazy... Always in the evening too just as I want to relax! I end up leaping up and wandering round the kitchen in circles cleaning like a mad woman till they pass... So many times been tempted to go to hospital for a check just in case but then they stop!

Not long now... the last bit is the worst!

This was me back in February! Had the pains you describe for 5 or 6 days. Then, after peeling the potatoes one night, waters broke and contractions really started.

Didn't have time to grill the sausages - dd arrived an hour and a half later!

Oh and I was booked in for an elcs too, but things progressed too quickly for that. It wasn't the birth I had planned for, but vbac really was fine. Once my head had caught up with my body, I was pretty chuffed! And recovery was much quicker too.

Watching this with interest. I have had similar symptoms, OP, but I'm only 33+5 Confused BH's and period type pains, not as frequently yet though and mine only began Friday.....

SarryB · 03/06/2012 08:03

This sounds like me, 6 weeks and two days ago! Two days later, I'm holding my son.

Kveta · 03/06/2012 09:59

still not a sausage here. sigh. am fed up now!

Well I haven't popped yet. Really don't want to either before my section date as the reason I'm having one is due to tokophobia from previous difficult birth... So ds better hang on in there.

Still having loads of evening braxtons, sometimes so painful I have to get on all fours to shift the babys position .. But they don't do more than that!

I have 10 days till my section!
