Its baby number two and I've just had an unmistakeable show! (TMI but snotty looking slightly blood stained jellyish stuff, eww!)

The pregnancy book says this means labour is imminent for second babies but I just wondered what others experiences were? Thank you for any help ladies!

Hi I had this with first, I had no waters breaking etc.

After this - I got light contractions from thurs pm gradually building till sat pm when it all kicked in.

Not in labour until contractions start!

BuntyCollocks · 30/05/2012 21:59

I lost my plug a couple of days before I had dc1. Certainly wasn't imminent I'm afraid!

Didn't lose plug at all with number two. Waters leaked late at night, went to bed, woke up at 5 with contractions and delivered at 7.22!!

I lost my plug a week and half before I went into labour. I don't think it means anything unless you have other signs - contractions generally are a good sign. Your plug can reform.

Mine went a week before I had ctx.

Mine certainly signalled the start of labour. My first contraction was about 2 minutes after I had my show.

I had my show in a coffee shop toilet (Nero's), went to wipe myself after a wee and this alien looking jelly creature splattered on the wall. That was saturday morning, went into labour next day around noon.

First baby - show two days before labour started

Second baby - show about 4 hours before baby born Grin! But contractions had already unmistakably started a bit before that.

Good luck!
