Did you labour at the same time of day with all your babies?

DC3 is due in just over 3 weeks. I'm having a homebirth again.
With both boys I've laboured more during the day. DS1 was born at 12:15pm and labour started at about 3am but I was in established labour from 8am.
DS2 was born at 6:47pm and labour started at 7am.

Does that mean this baby is more likely to come in daytime or is it just pot luck?

Thanks.

Interesting - I've no idea. I started labouring around the same time with both babies (early evening) & in fact they were both born around 11pm, but one had 24 hrs intervening...

Hooleywhipper · 27/05/2012 08:21

You might be on to something there 5.44am and 7.35am both started between 1-2am.good luck.two home births here.

CornishKK · 27/05/2012 08:28

Started at about 6:00am with both, established labour at about 9:00, DS born at 13:30, DD born at 10:30 (18 minutes after arriving at hospital!).

Chicksy · 27/05/2012 08:29

I never thought about it that way before but for me it was

DS1 labour pains started 5am born 1pm
DS2 labour pains started 9am born 6pm
DD1 labour pains started 5am born 12pm

I cant legitimately add to to this thread as DD2 was born by ELCS but, my labour with DD1 started at 2am on the 17th February 2009 and at 2am on the morning of 17th April 2012, l had what felt like the beginnings of labour pains (prob BH). I had to get up because the pains were so strong. I was thinking "oh no, pleeeeeease don't be labour!"

It wasn't labour, but it was spooky!

Northernlurker · 27/05/2012 09:45

DD1 was induced and born at 1am. Dd2 came by herself with labour starting in the morning and delivery at 2pm. Dd3 also came by herself and started about 5-6pm with delivery at 3am. So no pattern for me. It's extrordinary how different it is giving birth in the day to giving birth in the night - felt completely different!

duchesse · 27/05/2012 09:54

No.

DS: Waters broke 8pm Thursday, he was born Saturday 2pm.
DD1: waters broke 7am Tuesday, she was born 11am Wednesday
DD2: waters broke 4pm Sunday, she was born 11:30pm Sunday
DD3: Waters broke 5am Sunday, she was born (by CS) 2am Thursday.

McKayz · 27/05/2012 22:22

It's about equal then.

I was hoping the boys would sleep through me giving birth but then wondered if I was likely to labour during the day.

DD1 labour started about 9.30am born 2.30
DD2 labour started 7am born 8.20am!!!!

butthatsnotfair · 27/05/2012 22:44

I don't know but my mum has 4 children and we were all born on a Thursday.

sweetkitty · 27/05/2012 22:50

Mine are spooky

DD1 born 4.22am
DD2 born 4.00am
DD3 born 4.25am
DS born 4.52am

Went into labour at night with first 3, longest labour 4h20m, shortest 4mins. DS was an induction was given a peasant at 12 midnight told that they would reassess me and break waters if they could in the morning, thought he would miss the 4-5am birthing slot, 2 were homebirths too.

I'm not having no5 to further test my theory.

WizzyBizzy · 27/05/2012 23:00

Not even nearly in my case.

DC1: Started 7pm, born midnight
DC2: Started 4am, born 7am.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 27/05/2012 23:00

this exact question occurred to me the other day. But I have no real reason to ask (only 1 DS)

But sweetkitty: Grin at being given a peasant! and Shock at 4 min labour! (they're both typos, right?!)

Pmsl bloody autocorrect on the iPhone GrinGrinGrin

Correction given a peasant and a 45 min labour with no3.

ChasingSquirrels · 27/05/2012 23:10

yes,
ds1 - started 10.30pm, born 1.34am
ds2 - started 11.40pm, born 11.55pm

WhatDreamsMayCome · 27/05/2012 23:12

Interesting thread about timing of births, McKayz.

Have not gone through full term labour yet, just a mc at home at 14wks so far, however to support what butthatsnotfair has said regarding days of the week, the labouring happened on the same day as my mother - on a Friday morning, she had her csection at the same time, her mother had a home birth with her, on, guess what day? Yep, a Friday morning and before that, my ggmother and gggrandmother had them on Fridays. Don't know if it a mother's mother's mother thing or just more general but seems more than a coincidence.

Popoozle · 27/05/2012 23:14

DS1 - waters broke at about 8.30am - born at 4.57pm.
DS2 - waters broke at about 12.50pm - born at 4.31pm.
DD - waters broke at about 6.30pm - born at 7.46pm.

So while there's no real pattern in the times of labour starting, the delivery times are kind of close.

I'm not going to have a DC4 to test the theory further though Grin.

YellowButtercups · 31/05/2012 00:27

DC1 - waters went at 1am, born at 9am
DC2&3 - strong contractions from 1pm, born at 8.50pm & 9pm.

Basically as far apart as possible!
