Had a sweep today in prep for induction at 37 weeks due to OC (not yet confirmed, awaiting bile acid results but ALT is over 400)
Had originally wanted a home birth & until a week ago everything was totally healthy & straight forward so not entirely thrilled at the prospect but really just want a healthy baby at the end of it all.
Dr. examined me (V.V. uncomfortable) & gave a bishop score of 5. An hour-ish later Midwife came to do sweep (not nearly as uncomfortable as Dr. examination) & gave score of 6.
So my question is this, how likely is it that the induction will successfully start labour? Successfully enough that I might not need the syntocinon drip?
Am I deluding myself that I can be induced but then avoid too much further intervention?
