Hello

I've posted a couple of wimpy moaning threads before, so apologies if you've already had the pleasure of listening to me moan!

2nd pregnancy, 1st was 2 years ago and induced at 42w - I was already 2cm dilated apparently. I had 3 sweeps, all at which i was 1cm dilated - none of these worked. From start to finish 7hrs, epidural and quite a bit of repair work done.

I am now 38w with this one, and MW tried to sweep yesterday but cervix is tightly closed. I am due to be induced next tues for possible medical probs with baby (echogenic bowel spotted at 16w, and although it has now cleared, apparently there is an 8% chance of baby not making it alive to 40w).

I have been really positive up till now, and was quite convinced I would go early and breeze through - not looking like i will if my cervix/body is not ready to give him up yet. Now I am bloody terrified that the induction will be a nightmare as my body not ready. My cervix is apparently soft and short, which it has been since 24 weeks when i went into pre term labour which they managed to stop.

What are others experiences of 2nd induction? I was half hoping that 2nd time around it might be easier, if not at least the same. I have been reading and listening to the hypnobirthing stuff, and am now worried that this might be a waste of time when up against that damn drip that they will stick in!

At age 38 I really did not want to have my legs stuffed behind my head to get the baby out whilst off my head on drugs - not done that since my early 20's (excluding the drugs) and don't' feel like the indignity of doing it again!!
