Hi there went for a membrane sweep yesterday to be told that my cervix is not open for business and there wasn't much they can do! Going again tomorrow to have another one then after that they will induce me on monday.
I am so frustrated as I have PGP and its killing me I can't walk far and I am in so much pain with it and I just need to talk to someone.

I don't know what you are experiencing, but having been in the hell of a lot of pain recently, I feel your ... pain (no pun intended). Hope things will go well for you.

Had a bit of a shitty birth but all good now. DS is very sweet.

madcow5042 · 10/05/2012 16:39

What happened? Is it your first baby?
This will be my first and my last lol!!

It was very very painful and not straightforward. Very different from first one. Better not talk about it to someone about to give birth.
Blissfully happy now though.

Ok I understand. The midwife came again today to do a membrane sweep but my cervix is still closed. Looks like I am Gunna have to be induced after all. Fingers crossed between now an Monday he will decide to come out. I don't feel very hopeful though :(

The cervix can change very quickly - all is not lost - you could have a baby by Monday (and you can refuse induction if you don't want it)

likelucklove · 11/05/2012 16:02

Aw Sad I luckily didn't have the pain you are going through so I can't relate to that.

However, I was induced at 40+9 because of medical problems and also scored a 0 on the Bishops scale and was told it would be three days until anything even began to happen.

I was induced at 12pm, started having contractions at 3pm 5 mins apart, and after being 2cm dilated at 9pm, my waters broke straight after and was 10cm dilated at 9.20! I had a 70% chance of having an EMCS after all that because of my un-readiness too.

Sorry for all the numbers, but the gist of it is that it can change quickly! Good luck Smile

Oh wow ! Gosh I hope that happens to me I really don't want a c section. I have a tattoo down there and I asked the midwife if they could avoid cutting it but she said it was very unlikely. I really wanna push him out. Thanks likelooklove and flisspaps u have given me some hope. I will be 40+12 on Monday so yes there is hope between now and Monday fingers crossed :o

Hi madcow just wanted to offer a bot of support. I have PGP too - early days though - 17 weeks - but went to a chiropractor recommended by my mw this week who was AMAZING! Don't know if it's too late for you to see someone (NHS won't pay unfortunately) but perhaps it could help??

MoonHare · 11/05/2012 18:39

bit of support - though thinking about your tatoo maybe some bot support also wouldn't go amiss Wink

madcow5042 · 12/05/2012 10:46

Hi moonHair I did see a physio ages ago and I was given a giant tube grip to wear over my belly lol and some exercises. It worked for so long but I had to buy a support strap eventually as the tube grip got to tight and made me feel a little sick. My PGP has got worse as time has gone by it started in my SI joints but now it's in the SP joint at the front and it makes it hard to walk far and agoney in bed. I wish u well and just grin and bear it cause there isn't much u can do and I refuse to have crutches and a brace lolBlush good luck.
Still no signs of going into labour yet Sad xxx
