The reason I ask is that DD was 40+5.. I had a PPH 1000mls just after i delivered the placenta 18months ago. I had a sweep a week before she was born, did the RLTea from 34wks, LOTs of walking, Sex the day before she came, I was 2-3cms dilated with BH's 2 days before i had her. then she had a very quick labour. just under 3hrs. was only pushing for 20mins.

I have been offered a sweep next week, and I was thinking the usual (Sex/walking/birth ball etc) but would this cause problems?

Sorry, not quite sure why you're suggesting getting things moving before 40 weeks.

Hello, I'm 38w and being induced next week for medical probs with baby, I have been trying to get things moving to avoid the induction drugs and associated other probs (epidural, episiotomy etc). My consultant said she does not normally advise induction before 40w unless medical reason, but in my case would. I would rather get to 40:( Is there a reason you want/need to go early, as jkkpu said? If your body is not ready to give up the baby, 38 weeks or not, it is unlikely to do so:( whatever you do. Sorry, prob not what you want to hear.

MW has guessed that i wont make 40weeks anyway, but its a lot more uncomfortable than with DD. I dont want an induction. but am thinking of the sweep at 39+2. baby is engaging well and i'm contracting every 5 mins but just BH's at the mo
