Tightening of bump which doesn't seem to ease...

Hi All,

I'm 30 wks pregnant and since yesterday have had a tightness around my bump that doesn't seem to ease. It's not painful as such just uncomfortable.

I saw the midwife this morning to be on the safeside, she listened to the baby's heartbeat and took my blood pressure. Everything was normal however when she tested my urine there was reason to suggest that I may have a UTI and hence and irritable uterus.

I won't get the results until late tomorrow/saturday morning and in the mean time am drinking cranberry juice.

Just want to know if anyone else has had this tightness and the cause was a UTI, or if it was something else.

This sounds exactly like my Braxton Hicks contractions. Didn't the midwife suggest it might be that?

mini - don't your BH tend to ease off after a while though.

This feeling I have seems to literally last for hours without increasing in intensity. Is it the same for you? How far along are you if you don't mind me asking?
