CS - How long til I can wear normal pants again?

Been in my big pants and trackie bottoms for a month now. Big pants = no problem, but I HATE the trackie bottoms except for slobbing around the house in. I tend to live in jeans. My scar is healed really well, you can barely see it, no pain, teensy bit of vaginal bleeding every now and then. None of the health professionals mentioned when I can go back to normal clothing, and i keep forgetting to ask!!

I don't think I even considered asking a HCP! I just wore whatever seemed comfortable (never ever wore tracky bottoms!). If your jeans don't hurt you or rub your wound I'm sure that's fine.

BigBoPeep · 03/05/2012 13:06

ah, just what I thought - just needed some validation Grin

No problem. I think it's important to feel happy with how you look.

A little off topic but I am soooooo looking forward to being able to wear normal clothes / pants again!

Currently the size of a whale at 34 weeks with an elective c section booked in for 5 weeks time.

Can't wait to be able to see my pants again actually.. or even my toes!

Yes you can get back into them anytime but be careful the elastic doesn't rub against your scar.

Just wanted to say that I've read your posts on various other threads over the last few months QT, and I love the informed, practical and friendly advice that you give regarding c-sections (before, during and following the birth). Really helped me a lot. Thank-you so much! x

About 6 weeks or so both times.

Big pants, maternity jeans / combats and leggings were the only things I could wear.

You can wear anything when it feels comfy. But I didn't want waistbands rubbing my scar for a while after each CS.

melliebobs · 04/05/2012 09:10

At 8 weeks I'm back in jeans. Doesn't hurt my scar but a but un comfy cos the skin above is still feeling numb Sad

BigBoPeep · 04/05/2012 18:41

funny, I barely feel my scar? my stretched belly skin is way more tender! I wear high waisted jeans (dont like the bum cleavage look with low rise!) so I tried em on today and ok it squidged the babypouch belly about unflatteringly but felt ok to wear!
