I don't know much about either hospital really and would love to get peoples opinions.

Can you transfer to Rake Lane if you have your baby at the RVI?

I hemorraged after my first birth so am classed as high risk so can't use Rake Lane to give birth at.

I'm a bit far south so haven't used either of them.

But one of my friends had her twins at the RVI (she had to go there as was considered high risk), and she said it was fine.
They've also got one of the best neo-natal units in the region - hopefully not an issue for you - only mentioning it as DS was in neo-natal for a few weeks due to prematurity, and we saw a few other babies who'd been looked after in the RVI until they were strong enough to be transferred nearer home.

I don't think it's normal for women to transfer hospitals after the birth though. Assuming all goes well, surely they'd just keep you at the RVI for a few hours / days and then send you home?
