Songs for ELCS

I had to have DC1 by CS due to medical problem. Was shocked when I found out that I could not try for a VB. Had a lovely experience in theatre though.
Radio was playing. DC arrived to "everybody wants to rule the world". Not the greatest title but some nice lyrics (welcome to your life/ there is no turning back).

Will have another CS for DC2 and am looking for nice songs to go on the CD. I already have some great songs but would love to hear some of your ideas.

Maybe not "the first cut is the deepest"

P.S. my consultant is looking forward to the music as she thinks I have a great taste (was in hospital for 16 weeks before DC1 was born).
The pressure is on!!!

My CS took 6 minutes from incision to birth. So one long song or two short ones. :)

Panzee- IKWYM. ;0)
Would like to try and cover entire theatre time though. Including cuddling baby and being stitched back together....

I did play 'the first cut is the deepest' by sheryl crowe. Obstetrician was about to do incision and had to stop because he was laughing. I sent him the CD afterwards to say thanks for a lovely job. Smile

I'm afraid I won't be much help on the music thing. I was pretty whacked out on whatever the drugs were and was too busy trying not to puke to listen to anything. Except for my husband and the anaesthetist having a random conversation about books. :o The nurses chatted to me throughout the stitching and I got to cuddle/shake like a jelly in recovery.

Ha, we were too nervous to put our playlist together for DD2's birth! Couldn't seem to get our heads around it in time to put the CD together. Only had a vague idea of how long to expect being in theatre, which made making music decisions difficult. There were lots of songs from The Verve's album A Storm in Heaven that I would have liked, and a few Stone Roses songs always remind me of my girls. But these choices are very personal and even though they weren't played, I am always think of my pregnancies/my babies when I hear them :)

Anyway, Stand by Me just so happened to be playing in theatre when she was born. Pretty perfect Lunar gets all teary eyed!

DH has jus reminded me that My Girl was played ... I don't remember hearing that; I must have zoned out on a blissful baby cloud. Also, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Hmmm, not quite so perfect but good enough! x

Panzee · 28/04/2012 22:56

Oh yes, I shall call it a blissful baby cloud. Sounds better than whacked out on drugs :o

I had snow patrol on during labour and I clearly remember 'open your eyes' during the pushing stage. I was a bit out of it but the lyrics and tune seemed lovely at the time!

DD was born to What a wonderful world, just perfect!

Thanks everyone so far. I do like some of the songs mentioned. So please add more when you can think of something.
