No CS overhang after EMCS with DC1 - will I get it after CS with DC2?

Just that, really.

I put on 2 stone when I was pregnant with DC1 four years ago. Ended up with EMCS, and took 2 years to lose the weight I'd gained. But after I'd lost it, I had no CS overhang. My tummy was looser, but no overhang.

I have put on near on 3 stone this time around - I am 40 weeks. If I have another CS, what are my chances of escaping the overhang, do you think?

I did.

depends on your weight gain, skin tone, the new scar they give you etc. My first scar was perfect (often complimented) I was VERY fit only put on 17lbs. this perfect scar was cut out for DD and scar #2 Not quite so fit but very active and only put on 11 Lbs. No overhang but definite 'ridge' above approx 4" long scar. I look on it rather affectionately as its where my babis entered the world :)

I think it will depend on how they stitch you back together gain tbh. You were lucky last time Envy

No overhang here after an emcs and an elcs in Feb. I'm overweight and had no issues. Didn't put on much weight during second pregnancy though and was back to pre-pregnancy weight in 11 days.

UPDATE

Well, I ended up with an EMCS in the end, and now I'm 8 days post-op. I don't hold out much hope for my middle! I am still hugely, hugely bloated, and my skin is incredibly loose. So I am resigned to a flabby belly and an overhang this time round!

Don't panic just yet. I had an overhang after my 2nd emcs but 8 months later and lots of exercise and a good diet and it's almost gone.

Congratulations and just enjoy these early days.

Hey, I just have a question: I had an ELCS just over 2 weeks ago and have a hard bit that puffs out over the right-hand side of my scar. Is that swelling? Or deep brusing? (Heard the word 'haematoma' mentioned my CMW 3 days after). Or is that an overhang that I'll need to work on later? I was trim before getting pregnant (2nd baby) didn't gain a lot during pg and belly has gone down quite well so far, except for the bit I just mentioned x

Congrats OP to OU for the birth of your baby! Thanks

Meant to be 'you' not 'OU'. Bloody iPhone correcting me all the time and getting it wrong ...

I was other way around - dreadful overhang first time, but during second section the surgeon must have sorted it out a bit or done a better job or something. Much smoother and flatter now.
