What were your first signs of labour?

Hi everybody, I am 38+5 with DS2 and have been experiencing a few shooting pains down below. I am not sure whether it's the sign that something is on the move. But it was not regular contractions like last time.
How did you know for sure you were in labour? Did you have any signs? What were they?

I had lots of aches and pains before I finally went into labour and I kept hoping they were signs of something happening but they weren't! When I did eventually go into labour, I had a show in the evening and then started getting mild but regular contractions the next morning. Hope it happens soon for you and all goes well.

Cheerio,
Katie

I had about a week's worth of what I can only describe as period pains before I actually went into labour. The mw said it was just my body getting ready, the cervix softening. But that sounds promising - sounds like you might have a very timely baby!

felt like i had a gippy tummy. When I started pacing the room, DP knew we wouldn't be staying at home that night.

I just felt really uncomfortable around my middle. I couldn't find a position that was comfortable for more than 5 mins. I ended up rocking on our rocking chair for hours on end Hmm.

Then I pooed...a lot!

Good luck!
