HOW do I get labour started? Am so fed up.

I'm 40+8, have spd which means I'm stuck in house and have a 15 month old with a chest infection - am so far beyond pissed off I cant even see it anymore I've got a birthing ball thing which I've been on, reflexology app booked for Thursday, have tried curry and other wives tales, had a sweep last week and was told 2cm dialated, soft central cervix, blah blah. Have been having period pains and tightenings for about a week. Why is nothing happening??

My 'not even a smidge of a sign of happening soon' labour started a few hours after a boogie in a bar. I blame Dolly Parton! Know you have spd so you may not be able to manage a dance

Ah so I need to go dancing at a bar? I am prepared to load up on codeine and throw some shapes to 9-5 if it means I dont eventually give birth to an 18 year old.

Well, a bit of 9-5 and 'big girls u are beautiful' did it for me. No need for a bar just stick thr radio on.

Go for another sweep if you can soon after the reflexology ... And try not to stress about it. My second baby was 10 days late, got myself in a right pickle as wanted to avoid csection. But I took the advice to relax and baby will come when ready, went for a really long walk (it was lovely sunny day) and went into early labour that night, baby born following day. And I had sweeps and reflexology. Good luck!

Sweep worked unexpectedly for me at 6 days over - walks worked for friends. No matter how much bouncing I did on that darn ball, it induced absolutely nothing!

Still nothing! Am actually now 40+10 and todays sweep showed that NOTHING has changed since the last one. Been booked for induction for Friday night so really hope reflexology works tomorrow. With my dd I was induced ar 40+14 and she was showing no signs of going anywhere at that point. Ffs!

I went shopping, came back pegged out the washing then cut the grass. I think it was the lawn mower that really helped! Was getting pretty desperate as induction was booked for the wednesday, ds born early tues morning. Good luck!

Combining all the things I've heard over the years you should have a pineapple curry after a heavy sex session on a trampoline followed by a drive on a bumpy road and more sex.
