I know it varies from hospital to hospital but just wondering how long you were in for after an uncomplicated csection delivery. 1st time I was in 4 days. last time barely 36 hours.

I was in for 5 days, but it was a crash section and I reacted badly to the anaesthesia so I was on a drip for about 3 days afterwards.

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 16/04/2012 14:18

I was discharged after 2 but DD in for 5 so I stayed with her.

The standard was 3 nights at my hospital, but they would have let me stay another night if I had wanted.

I had c section on the thurs afternoon and was out by sat lunchtime. Would have been out first thing sat but took ages for them to sort out meds to take home.

DawnOfTheDee · 16/04/2012 15:33

I only stayed in for 2 nights. They wanted to keep me in for another day at leas but I couldn't wait to get off the ward. Seriously couldn't have coped with another night in there.

bobblesmama · 16/04/2012 15:43

I had a emcs last Saturday and was discharged the following Monday at 8am. It felt a lot longer though as I was desperate to get home!

babybouncer · 16/04/2012 16:48

I was in 2 nights (3 days). They were happy I'd showered, been mobile and passed urine and I was very happy to get back home!

MsMoo · 16/04/2012 18:38

I was in for just 2 and a half days with both my planned caesareans.

Purplehonesty · 16/04/2012 19:14

Had ds early on tues morning and out on fri. They wanted me to go home on Thursday but I was being so well looked after I didn't want to leave! Then they made a fuss about me leaving on the Friday and I had to wait ages to be discharged!!

jaggythistle · 16/04/2012 19:17

2 nights. baby born on Monday night and out on Wednesday afternoon.

fruitybread · 16/04/2012 19:52

2 nights. Had CS Thursday evening - left Saturday teatime, although I was ready and OK'd to go on Saturday morning (walking, peeing, eating, pooing, fine) - the delay was finding a paed at the weekend to do all the newborn checks.

HardCheese · 16/04/2012 20:17

Two nights for an ELCS 13 days ago. Had it Tuesday morning, was discharged Thursday afternoon. As with fruitybread, it would have been earlier, but for getting a paed to do the check-up on our little one, and all the paperwork.

Thanks ladies. Pretty much as I thought.

EMCS Thursday morning, I was discharged Sat lunchtime, but again, exactly the same as fruitybread, there was then a long delay tracking down a paed to do the checks on DS - finally escaped around 9pm Saturday!

FondleWithCare · 18/04/2012 13:09

2 and a half days, I desperately wanted to leave after 1 and a half days,

pixiestix · 18/04/2012 13:13

48 hours. I thought I would go mad with sleep deprivation.

blackteaplease · 18/04/2012 15:36

Had dd at midnight on a Friday, was home at 6pm on the Sunday. I had to chase up my discharge papers several times and waited a couple of hours for results of my blood test (iirc).

Gooseysgirl · 20/04/2012 06:32

DD born by EMCS just after 9pm on a Sunday night, was on the way home at 3pm Tues afternoon. All my family and friends in Ireland were horrified as it's 4/5 night stay for them after CS.. But I was delighted to get home to my own bed and was given fab pain relief to self-administer. My post-natal ward was great... but the crying babies on my second night was enough to have me requesting discharge first thing the next day. Was much happier at home in my own surroundings with just one crying baby to cope with!!

KitCat26 · 21/04/2012 22:08

2 nights. DD2 was born in the morning by ELCS.
First night bliss as no one else was in the 'keep an eye on em' bay. Passed out in the shower next morning Blush.
Second night much busier. Next morning I asked to go home and the midwives were very pleased that they didn't have to haul me out of the shower naked again .

Wrigglebum · 22/04/2012 09:04

The leaflet I got from my hospital said you could be out after 24 hours! I checked with my midwife and she said as long as baby is well and feeding, and you are pooing, peeing and moving around then it could be! I hated being in hospital last time so I'll be happy to get out ASAP.

Meglet · 22/04/2012 15:27

3 nights after my EMCS and ELCS.

TBH I wanted to leave after 1 night following my EMCS as the care was shit.

I was much arsier with the staff after my ELCS and was quite happy in my private room and would have stayed for longer.
