raspberry leaf capsules, how many at 39weeks?

This is my fourth pregnancy and with the previous three I went mad on the tea and it maybe coincidence but had straight forward quick labours.

This time round haven't touched a drop decided not to bother as couldn't face it, but now I've started to panic/shit myself about another labour I decided I could try something.

The capsules say 3 to 6 a day. Should I go in at 6 being as I am 38+5 and two of my dcs made an appearance at 39weeks.

I started on the capsules at 37+1 (3 a day) and my waters broke at 38+1 (with my first and so far only DC).

I'd say start on 3 a day (one with breakfast, lunch & dinner) and if after a few days no signs of labour then increase to 2 with each meal, being the full 6 you can take in a day.

I'm sure you know that they dont actually help start labour but just help your uterus get ready for the labour.

Good luck!

Yes know they don't start labour otherwise I would probably avoid, as I Am TERRIFIED I hate decided baby should stay in for a few more weeks, but still want to make my chances of a straight forward labour as high as possible.

If you think baby should stay put for a bit longer then just dont take them. You could always take them next week, or the week after.

I've only had one DC but if you have had 3 already what is making you terrified? Taking raspberry leaf pills wont make any difference to whether its a straight forward labour or not. Your body has done this before so provided you didnt have any difficulties in your previous births there is no reason for you to think something could go wrong this time.

Terrified as I remember the last labour well was only an hour start to finish which I suppose is good but was sooo painful and so intense, 2nd stage 4mins but was like one massive contraction that never went off and was agony.

So I can't complain as all went well but just really scared of doing it again. Even mw agreed that sometimes it's easier to handle when it's longer and a slower build up.

But also wouldn't want it to be really long, obviously.
