So what does a contraction actually feel like (kinda urgent)?!

Ladies - hoping you can help if anyone's actually logged in at this time of the morning.

Currently 6 days overdue, and have developed a pain over the last hour and a half that I haven't had before, but isn't quite how I'd expected a contraction to be, so not sure if it is or not.

Have been having lots of Braxton Hicks the last few days, where bump goes really hard and tight, and from what I've been told was expecting a real contraction to be similar, but starting more at bottom of bump and hurting a bit (or lot!!).

Now getting pain in bottom of bump, prob about every 6-8 mins or so (though still a bit irregular), but bump doesn't seem to be going tight at all. So could this be a real contraction?

Probably!

Cheers! Perhaps I'll go take a bath. Timed the last 3 at 4 mins apart, but they don't seem bad enough to be even considering hospital at the moment. Bad enough for me to hate the thought that they might just be a trial run though .

I found it was only a couple of hours into it all that the bump went hard all over - mine started as niggly pain (like period pain) and then low bottom of bump regular pain.
A bath sounds a great idea - try to relax through the really early stages and conserve a bit of energy

Can't remember getting a hard bump at all, initial contractions felt like a dragging sensation.

But it was almost 3 years ago, and I'm amazed how little I can still remember.

Yes, sounsd like contractions to me! I just felt period like pain with my contractions, rather than tightenings.

Sounds like how my labour with DS2 started. Don't be fooled by them not being too strong...mine weren't either until about half an hour before my waters went and baby born 15 minutes after that.
