What colour are your waters when they break?

Im 40+4 & pretty sure my waters are leaking. I woke up in the night to a wet patch, got up & put a pad on. This morning it's wet & yellow in colour. Doesn't smell like wee. I'm just lying here waiting for more to come out. Can your waters be yellow?

Mine were clear I think. But it was a while ago and they gushed all over the floor so didn't get a close up look. Grin

Clear to straw coloured. It smells sweet. If you get green or dark flecks in it you need to tell your mw.

Straw coloured. Grin

How exciting!

How yellow? I don't want to frighten you or alarm you but merconium staining can be yellow. I'd ring the labour ward if I were you just to be on the safe side.

Good luck. Sounds like your baby could be on the way.

Oh ok - will give them a call to be on the safe side. Had a bit more leakage but not much. Really not sure if it's wee! Blush

Mine were a greeny colour with DS but he was in distress, had a bowel movement etc. They were clear with dd....I felt a definite pop with her....convinced myself I had wet the bed because all the pain of labour came flooding backGrin and wetting the bed was preferable out of the two!!

Goodluck!!

mine were completely clear; it just looked like someone had soaked me with a hosepipe, lol xx

Thanks for the replies. I'm still no clearer really. It came up as amniotic fluid on the ph pad at the hospital but there's no pooling on the speculum so they said it's unlikely Confused

They've taken some bloods to monitor for infection as the baby was wriggling like a maniac & tachycardic for hours but has settled now, thankfully.

Thanks again Smile
