HI Everyone
I wonder if anyone can help me. I am a student (waiting to hear if i have been accepted for a midwifery degree) and am in the process of writing an assignment.
The topic is why more women don't have home births. Anyone who hasn't had a home birth or wouldn't in the future - can you tell me why..? You dont have to go into detail i just need to know the main reasons..

i would be very grateful for your thoughts!!
Thanks, kelly x

I had a home water birth with my first baby last June. I was supported by a brilliant team of community midwives and had the best experience of all my friends who had hospital births.

They tidied up afterwards!

Midwives came every day for about 2 weeks afterwards (I had trouble feeding) for at least an hour a time. I had their undivided attention and felt really supported through the whole experience. We kept most visitors at bay til we felt ready and didn't do any hostess rubbish. Just lay in bed waiting for pressies and cake!

Go for it Flamesparrow!
