Constant Bleeding after Catheter

Hi Everyone, I had an epidural which required a catheter. Following removal (7 days ago) I've been bleeding every day from my urethra (horrible word!) The nurse and doctor have checked for external damage (none) and I've nearly finished my course of anti biotics (still happening) Has this happened to anyone else and can you give me an insight?

Cheers

I had same this time last year; I think it went on for about a fortnight, but I didn't see the docs or anything. I had an episiotomy too (which wasn't checked by midwives at any time) and I think I just sort of assumed that the blood was coming from there for a long time. Anyhoo it did clear up and go away.

Are you sore? If things don't feel right, go back to the docs/nurse. My episiotomy was messed up and it took about 15 visits to the nurse and I was feeling like an absolute plum (she kept telling me I couldn't expect to feel 'normal', but my problem was I was still in bloody agony four months after the birth), but eventually, because of my persistence, I was referred to a specialist who diagnosed a botched job and put it right. So - if you're concerned, phone them tomorrow morning. Make a nuisance of yourself.

Hope you feel better soon Smile
