Dp is away until October time. He may be able to attend he birth but only for a day or so. sil will be there too but its not the same

How can i time this so it wont be a false start? i cant???

also dreading this labour at the thought of him missing it and also that he wont be there in the early days, weeks, months on a regular basis.

we have our dd who will be 18.5months when dc is born.

dc is already 3/5 engaged. I am 33 weeks nearly.

Head is all over the place.

Dozey, I feel for you [hugs].

I've not got any advice for the timings etc but I did actually go through some really significant parts of my labour on my own with the midwife, and in some ways I think I might have preferred it to if DP was there. DP had been sent home from the pre-labour ward by the time I had hit 4cm and went for an epidual, so I went through the epidural and then the discovery that DD was distressed, a foetal blood test, having my waters broken, and preparation for an emcs all just with the mw (DP barely made it back to the hospital in time for the emcs!). The mw was wonderful and incredibly supportive. In some ways, because I wasn't worrying about DP and his reactions to the pain and stress of those few hours I was able to do whatever I wanted (some screaming and nearly broke the mw's wrist as I sat still for the epi, bless her!) with just calm professionals around I found it all easier.

So I just wanted to say that if your timings do sadly go wrong then labour really might not be too bad without your DP.

Good luck, though, and I hope all your timings work!
