Queen Charlotte overbooked

Hi ladies,

I'm pg with my first and have just been told that Queen Charlotte is overbooked during the time of my EDD (my GP referred me there). I knew that they're very popular but I was hoping I'd have a chance since I'm local and out of all the hospitals my GP 'offered' me, it's the most convenient location wise, easiest to get to etc. Is there any amount of begging and pleading I can do to change their mind (silly question, I know)?
Not too keen / sure about the other hospitals in the area, Northwick Park, St Mary's, Central Middlesex, Royal Free. She didn't offer Whittington, but I could self refer...
Would love any feedback on the other hospitals, suggestions, reassurance...

thank you! Thanks

I had ds and the dts in St Mary's and a mc in UCH in between. It's fine and was much better 2nd time round last summer on post-natal. The birth centre is meant to be amazing but I'm much too high risk to be allowed in there. I've had a friend who's used it twice (1st time she only made it to the car park in the ambulance but 2nd time was in the birth centre) and she raves about it.

Night mws on post-natal can still be a bit funny although one was really great. Long waits for consultant appointment. Also although they're meant to have a great nicu i'm a bit Hmm about their scbu and paeds as they discharged my dts born at 33+4 at 33+9 with no advice to me at all apart from feeding every 3 hours (which I knew already from ds) and we were admitted to the royal free 5 days later with hypothermia and feeding issues caused by it.

Same thing happened when my cousin was due - she had her 2nd in West Middlesex, as Queen Charlottes was full. Not sure where you are located but she was in Ealing and am sure I am correct in saying it has a great new maternity wing.. all went well.

My sister again had same thing and went to St Marys for her 2nd she was happy too.

Have a friend going to the Whittington and another friend said 'ohh wouldn't go there it's next to Holloway Prison' (apparently ward can have women with handcuffs on etc which isn't pleasant)

Just some thoughts really for you, sure others will comment and as I say just opinions really. Good luck

I've heard good things about UCH, you could self refer there too, but all depends on how far gone you are, as I tried getting in there but seems i have left it too late.
