Did you bump visually drop? Was it weeks before labour?

With my first I can't say I noticed myself but remember people telling me how low it was at a wedding and that I better not have the baby at the wedding reception.

That was a Saturday I had dd at 9am the following Monday.

Now when I look at the pictures it definitely looks low.

I feel like my bump may have dropped yesterday and had a niggly night, not sure if I imagining it though. I'm only 35 weeks

People told me that my bump dropped but like you I didn't notice, I shrugged it off because I was only 33+5, however DD arrived 2 days later so maybe get yourself checked to put your mind at rest - Good luck x

I didn't drop with DC1 until my waters broke. In this pregnancy I dropped at 36+5 (just woke up and baby had dropped- 3/5th engaged according to midwife). Am 38 weeks today so hasn't meant anything in my case anyway!

LucyManga · 17/03/2012 16:36

My bump really noticeably dropped at 35 weeks.

LucyManga · 17/03/2012 16:36

should say in my first pregnancy - in second pregnancy didn't drop at all!

threecurrantbuns · 17/03/2012 17:06

And Lucy when did you first make an appearance?

I'm interested in reading this one.. I had a bit of a contraction scare the other day and people have told me my bumps dropped loads.. I'm only 31 weeks today

startail · 17/03/2012 18:37

Yes but no more than a day or so before I went into labour.
I didn't notice at the time, but looking at the pictures it's really obvious.

I think I maybe imagining it as I've had enough lol.

Last night I thought I was leaking water and had period pain and felt like my bump had dropped but nothing happening today except feeling very tired after a long night.

mine dropped about 3 - 4 weeks before i gave birth

FanjolinaJolie · 18/03/2012 18:10

Mine did.

After being a firm bump all the way up to the centre/top of my middle ribs I woke up one morning and could press under them, there was a squishy gap of about 5cms or more. 'Twas bizarre.

HardCheese · 18/03/2012 18:18

I'm due tomorrow and it dropped maybe three weeks ago when the baby started engaging. (Was monitoring it closely as he was posterior and I was trying to get him to move.) A friend I hadn't seen since Christmas remarked on Frday that I didn't look any more pregnant than when she'd last seen me, but I think that my bump is bigger, but lower, and so possibly not so protuberant.

Dozeyland · 19/03/2012 21:19

i'm 31 weeks and feel like DC2 has dropped...

but movements are still very active and strong what could this indicate?

interesting thread

threecurrantbuns · 19/03/2012 21:39

Hardcheese, good luck hope baby comes soon.

I'm not sure if i'm imagining the drop lol. But feel lots of pressure down below and backache.
But then this is my fourth and apparently they don't sometimes drop at all until labour.
Baby is really active too. But a mum I know who had her baby this week said baby was massively active right until birth

Its crazy. I had DD1 16.5months ago . but cant really remember her movements in the few days up to birth :s?

threecurrantbuns · 21/03/2012 11:29

Well this is my fourth and I can't seem to remember any of the last minute symptoms before labour.

Everybody thinks different - some people said 'oh oh, you've dropped!' and others 'oh, you dont look like you've dropped yet?' midwife says head is officially well down though, so I must have done!

Happenstance · 22/03/2012 16:18

Mine dropped 2 weeks ago, still waiting :(

Pascha · 22/03/2012 16:25

I was breech until DS was turned about a month before he was born so my bump changed shape anyway. The bump was always quite low though.
