I'm due in at 8am tomorrow to have gel applied for my second baby. He's due next Tuesday but as he's big and I tore last time we are going early and hopefully have a slightly more controlled experience. I've had 4 sweeps, lots of show so hoping its going to be easy to tip me into labour.

Any second timers experience of straightforward labour after gel?

Hi, i didnt just go into labour with gel alone BUT in my hospital they didnt use gel for second/third+ mums. They used a little pessary thing like a teeny tampon on a string - it did make me contract.

On the plus side i had 2 full on induced labours - both only 6 hours long and ds' in particular was easy peasy and really not that sore! They were 8lb11 and 9lb4.

Good luck!

Best of luck OP!
I had a fab 2 nd induction, (2 nd DC).. Pessary at 10.30am , contractions started shortly after. Was told I was 4 cm at 2 pm after waters breaking and then DD2 was born at 2.20 pm! We were home by 6 pm so it was shorter than my usual day at work.
Am sure you'll breeze through it ( sending you positive vibes)

Hiya,
I went in to be induced as Daisy was 11 days overdue (!). They gave me a pessary around 11pm (had to wait hrs as was a very busy afternoon!).
They then gave me a sleeping tab and pain killers (!) and made me sleep for a bit saying they'll re-asses me in the morning....
Woke up at 4am ish with back to back contractions, 5cm dilated, went to labour ward, then moved to birth pool for last hr and bit and gave birth at 7.40am! So quite a quick labour for what I can remember!
So my experience was good. Hope all goes well tomorrow, and you are cradling your cute little bundle very very soon!
