It still counts!

No value-judgement, actual or implied!

Well said. I have had a "natural" birth and a CS with the twins. I really doesnt matter how they arrived. i was high as a kite for my first birth, cant remember that much and with the section i remember most of it. Either way you do it, if you have a healthy baby at the end does it really matter? Birth is only the first part, its 1 day(ish). You have the rest of your childs life to worry about all sorts so why worry about that 1 thing when it really doesnt matter?

Clockingout · 15/03/2012 10:03

You still can't spell it Wink it is 'caesarean' unless you are American :)

Of course it still counts! What do you mean, is someone saying it doesn't??

I had one 'natural' birth, it didn't feel in any way natural, to be up in stirrups with the OB hoiking away with her forceps..

Second was planned CS - it was bloody marvellous.

On Monday I am having my third planned CS, bring it on!

StealthPolarBear · 15/03/2012 10:04

What's up? I was coming on to say congratulations on your new baby!

Flisspaps · 15/03/2012 10:08

Well done Grin

I had a forceps delivery after induction with an episiotomy that extended into a 3a tear.

Even more impressive, I now have a bonkers 2 year old and they've not discovered that I have no idea of what I should have done and have been making decisions about parenting in a muddled, ad hoc way as I go along and yet seem to have done OK do far!

Yay me! Smile and DH I suppose Wink

We're all fabulous - look at what we

Me too albeit an EMCS!

BellaCB · 16/03/2012 21:40

I had an EMCS. I'd only got to 4cm, DD was distressed and my waters were infected.

But do you know what? Secretly, I was actually quite happy that I didn't get anywhere near pushing at all Blush. I never pictured myself doing that. I actually think I might be 'too posh to push'! (without the actual 'posh' bit!)

I do think sometimes about whether I mind not having given birth naturally and... meh. I have a beautiful daughter. I don't care at all how she got here - and I certainly don't feel 'less of a woman' for it!

BeeWi · 18/03/2012 06:58

I had an emcs 9 days ago. If anyone ever implied I was 'too posh to push' I'd probably punch them. Still feel a bit like I've been hit by a bus...nowt posh about that.

insanityscratching · 18/03/2012 07:20

I had a ELCS and four vaginal deliveries wouldn't call them natural because there was epidurals and syntocin aplenty. They were a doddle compared to the ELCS and so huge respect those who have more than one tbh.

VikingLady · 18/03/2012 09:31

I had an emcs for breech last week. I can't believe people think I would choose this! If suffering is a measure of how "real" the birth was...

riamay2011 · 18/03/2012 09:35

I had a c section 4 days ago currently laid up in bed snuggling my DD and DH whilst they sleep. In pain but worth it. Had my other DD by c section to actually they were both emcs as heart rates dopped. Didnt even get to 1cm dilated.... X
