labour length, anyone had a short then long labour?

Mine were 4hours, then 2hours then 1hour.

Pregnant with number 4. Everyone keeps saying how quick it will be but don't like to hedge my bets.

No two labours are the same and all that.

I had one long one, followed by a shortish one, followed by a long one!

Completely random

Everybody who is saying that could be right.
DS1 waters broke, delivered 2 days later at 37 weeks weighing in at 5lb12oz.
DD2 was 14 days late, had to have waters broken, weighed in at 10lb

both labours were approx 3-4 hours due to induction

Lol, bet you felt like you were going mad after having first at 37 weeks.

I was a week early with my first and would have been pulling my hair out going over with my second, haven't yet in fingers crossed I don't this time

I had a 13 hr labour then a 36 hr one, so neither really short but dd took much longer!

DD1 was 8 hours, DS was 25 hours (don't even go there!) and DD2 was 1 hour 48 minutes

Ds1 4 hrs 37 mins
Dd1 50 mins

DS 1 hour 51 mins
DD1 45 mins
(Both BBA)
DD2 in hosp for other high risk-ness induced on drip and almost another BBA as she arrived after only 4 contractions MW just happened to be in the room to check the drip. Each contraction was 10 mins apart so apparently according to the strict definition of 3 in 10 mins I was never in established labour. So you could either say DD2 was 40 mins or 0 mins!

So if they need to induce you for what ever reason take note to listen to your body and ignore the stupid monitoring graph.

first was 11 hours, two inbetween 3 and 4 hours,but i stayed at home longer.and no4 was longer again .

I'm glad you asked this as it is something I have been wondering about. My DS was 16 hours of labour followed by a swift 1 hour with DD, really hoping we make it to the hospital with this one number 3!
