Just thought I would drop a quick post to encourage people after my successful VBAC at UCH in London a couple of weeks ago. I started having 'proper' contractions around 11am, went in hospital at 3pm (they were concerned whether some bleeding was a show or something else) and my daughter was born just after midnight with only gas and air for pain relief. We were helped by an amazing and strong midwife who made all the difference, but did have a bit of an issue with one of the doctors over monitoring (he wanted CFM, but the monitor kept slipping and picking up my heart rate instead...) in the end we found a position where I was comfortable and could also be monitored which was probably lucky. The whole experience was very positive and straightforward - so take heart!
