Baby activity before labour

Hi all!
I'm 37+5 with our first. Baby was incredibly active yesterday and has been pretty much throughout the pregnancy. Both mw and the consultant i saw yesterday think I'll be delivering early so its now a waiting game!!

Just wondering if it's normal for Baby to remain active all the way up to eviction or if I should be expecting him/her to quiten down a bit? What are your experiences?

Both of mine (and the one currently cooking) have been active right up to and during early labour. The kicks got less pronounced and more like wriggles but were definitely still active. This one's getting his eviction order on Tuesday and he's still jumping around quite merrily.

I've never really noticed them quieting down.

A word of warning - a friend pregnant with her third was told she'd likely deliver early by her consultant (previous two were 38 and 36 weeks). She delivered at 40+5 and was going up the wall by then having expected to be 37 weeks ish. They can't always tell!

pootle oh yes I'm absolutely not pinning my hopes on meeting the LO earlier than my EDD - may be my first but I'm realistic enough to know things don't go to time or plans and despite their qualifications etc, the medical folk can get some things wrong sometimes Wink Due to mild polyhydramnios, though, they won't let me go overdue by more than a week.

I'm nearly 39 weeks now and cant believe how active the baby still is. Its crazy. Needs to stop wriggling about and start wriggling out!

Hi fee! Yeah that's what mine is like - still really active all the time! Altho been a bit quieter today but not sure if it's because I'm looking for the signs of impending labour haha! Like we've said on the ante natal forum, it's like the TTC/2wk wait all over again!

39 weeks tomorrow with my first baby, and he's still kicking and wriggling like a small mad creature. I'm surprised, as I'd vaguely expected him to be much more quiescent (and squashed!) by this stage.

My baby has been going mad today too, wiggling his bum from side to side and occasionally applying a lot of downward pressure on my cervix. I'm 38+4 by scan dates, but 37+6 by actual dates. I'm kinda hoping that meeting him won't be so far away now cos it has been quite uncomfortable today!
