Hi all,
I m 39 weeks and 6 days from 3pm yesterday until about 4 am i had mild contractions lasting 20 mins apart getting stronger through the night to 10 mins apart then completely stopped in the morning. Its my second baby babies head has been fully engaged since week 38, can't walk very well, had loads of period like cramps for last two weeks and constant braxton hicks when i move around. Getting very tired and impatient!! Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Hi Woolly,

Sounds like things are happening for you, albeit slowly at the moment. I had period like pain for 2 weeks prior to DS's birth and have been in a similar situation this time. (I'm 38+5)

We have a little thread going over here where a few of us are in a similar boat. Come and join us!

I was going to give you my story, but its on midnight's thread. I had a long latent labour which was very quick once it all got going.

Hope it all kicks off for you soon!

Im in the same situation right now. 39+6, definately early labour going on, its just so darned slow and absolutely exhausting, how long can this possibly continue without a birth? DH is now going to take a day or two off, im hoping the relief of someone being here to look after DD4 (21 months) means i can relax into getting on with it.

The night before I was due to be induced with my 2nd at 40w+10 I had quite painful contractions ranging from every 10-15 mins, all stopped at about 4am. Went in to be induced, when they checked me prior to induction I was 2cm with bulging waters so didn't induce, but the check must've got things moving again- 2 hours later contractions started again, dd2 was born 3hrs after that.

Hope things get going for you soon- good luck!
