If your first 2 DCs were late and you went on to have a third.....

....was DC3 also late? Am expecting my third a week on Thurs (15th) and am currently presuming that it will be 2-3 days late as DDs 1 & 2 both were. I am therefore going to be massively wrong footed if it turns up early (am sort of ready but there's much more I could/should sort if I had the energy to do it before my parents turn up on Sunday....) as am not expecting it to turn up until the following weekend. Or at least I wasn't until GP mentioned at 38-week-check this morning that 3rd babies are unlikely to be late. Am hoping she was wrong so thought that, rather than doing some of the sorting I should be doing, would turn to the wisdom of MN......

TIA.

BitchyHen · 05/03/2012 18:56

DS1 1 day late.
DS2 7 days late.
DS3 6 days late.

Like you am therefore assuming that DC4 will be a week late (currently 36+4) but has occurred to me that i'd better get my self sorted just in case.

Good luck Grin

Term is 37 to 42 weeks. Define late?

My 3rd was two weeks earlier than my DC2.

BackforGood · 05/03/2012 19:33

dc1 - 1 week late
dc2 - 2 days late
dc3 - a week late, but she shot out when she came! Grin

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 05/03/2012 19:37

DS1 - 40+10, DS2 - 40+9 and DD - 40+11.

Whilst mine were late I actually think they came when they were ready (apart from DS2 who was induced) as pre children and pre taking the Pill I had a long cycle, 35 days rather than 28.

Thanks all for that - I'd have been truly alarmed at 3 weeks early but it does rather give the lie to what the GP told me. Can't say I fancy 17 days late, though, my sympathies.

By 'late', am meaning over 'official' due date - it just struck me that DD1 and DD2 seemed to 'cook' for the same amount of time so I just presumed that DC3 will be the same - rather over blase of me - time will tell, of course - but might get a few more things organised this evening, just in case.

Thanks as ever for your infinite wisdom and help!

dd1 - 40+15 by the time she arrived at 1am (induced)
dd2 - 40 + 7 natural labour
dd3 - went in to labour on 40 +7 and born just in to 40 + 8

Going by me your GP's well off!

Ihateparties · 05/03/2012 20:22

I too fell for this "oh it's the third one? It won't be late" business, however:
DC1 - 40+6
DC2 - 40 on the nose
DC3 - 40+10........... sorry!

lilmamma · 08/03/2012 08:14

first 2 were 2 weeks over due,no3 was 3 weeks over,and no4 10 days over .

LackingNicknameInspiration · 08/03/2012 19:42

So a resounding shout there for the GP being well off.

I shall clearly have to do the tried and tested technique of arranging stuff I really want to do next week!

Thanks, All!

Dc1 - 5 days late
Dc2 - 8 days late
Dc3 - 5 days early! I packed my hospital bag whilst in labour... Although to be fair I was hospitalised with the flu a week earlier and ended up with very low waters so I think dc3 decided enough was enough!!

Haribos · 12/03/2012 19:18

All 4 of mine were 14 days late!
