So should I stay up and time these pains or try and go to sleep?

Ok so have had on off period cramps all day and bits of bloody show. The pains have increased in the past couple of hours and are now like v bad period pains (making me nauseous) and are low down across the front and go round to my back. I've timed them for about 30 mins now and they are about 8-10 mins apart, and last about 45seconds. My bump goes hard at the same time.

I know this could go on and on so should I try and sleep or stay on birthing ball to be active? I'm not completely certain these are even proper contractions as they are like my period cramps but then my period pains are on the more severe side...

Baby v active when not 'contracting' and I'm 39+5, any advice mn?

If you can't sleep through and the contractions are regular...then you are getting there. How far apart are they now?

Pops73 · 05/03/2012 01:31

Good luck, MrsCog!

Hi everyone, BabyCog was born this morning weighing 7lbs 12oz, was fast for a first labour (I think) as after waking up Dh at midnight and the contractions being about 8 mins apart by 2am they were 5mins apart, if he hadn't been at a wierd angle which led to a 2.5hr pushing stage & ventouse & 2nd degree tear (none of which was as bad as I would have thought) it would have been done and dusted by 8am! But anyway pfb BabyCog is just wonderful and I just want to cuddle him forever :)
