Third Labour Experience?

I am due my third Babe April 5th and am interested in hearing People's Third Childbirth stories - I will just be grateful if baby gets out safe and sound and I am mostly left intact and well - must keep eye on the prize!
First was a good labour until end, poor babe had cord around neck x 2 and much urgent pushing/episiotomy but thankfully he was fine we just had to stay in for Him to have 48hr obs.

Second was good - I do remember noticing that every third contraction was the strongest almost like my body was taking me to the brink and back. Tore a bit as babe had hand up and it took loads of pushing, tummy massaging, yanking and tugging to get the placenta out (plus the remains came five days later...) but thankfully no need for theatre.

Had G & A with both but not allowed it for the pushing which I think is by far the hardest part - any tips for more effective pushing just to get it over with? I have Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire' on a loop in my head just thinking about it!

My third labour was quite enjoyable really. All my labours have been fine though, no tearing, 1st labour was 6 hours, 2nd was 4 hours and my 3rd labour was 2 hours long! I think because I knew what to expect (1st labour I had an epidural but didn't with 2nd or 3rd) I was more relaxed, went with the flow and really enjoyed it. I used G and A when pushing though, no one tried to take it off me. I think in my first labour they tried to take it away but I panicked without it and was given it back.

Also they didn't check how dilated I was, the midwife told the student midwife that I was an experienced mum so just to follow my lead! I would have preferred them to tell me how dilated I was though so I knew I was meant to push (I don't get a massive urge to push). I

my 3rd the labour went well, stayed at home as long as i could and went in to have her 3 hours later, the only thing was she had the cord round her neck twice, and so i had to have oxygen, they took the gas and air off me,so the bit when the head comes out was painful, but the good news......no stitches :) goodluck x

My third labour was my easiest and quickest. There were 2.5 yrs between my second and third.
I had had spd and he was 14 days late but I had refused a sweep and didnt want to be induced, hadnt had a show. Woke up at 4am with tummy pains which I then worked out were 3 mins apart!!!!!.....frantic rush to get OH and 2 boys under 5 up and in car. Arrived at hospital at 4.30am just got into room when I wanted to push and DS 3 was born at 4.50 after minimal pushing and waters breaking at the point of delivery. 50 mins from start to finish!
I am now expecting number 4 (34 weeks) and praying for a smooth birth as our local birthing centre has closed down and nearest hospital is 45 mins away !!! might make it might not!!

The only time I used gas and air was to control the pushing with my second.
