Show - always blood stained?

Just a quick question, is the show always blood stained/pink? I'm 39+1 today and went to the loo and had huge blob of EWCM looking stuff - I'm talking golf ball size - is that part of (or all of my show), v achy low down and in my back as well, but then this is DC1 so I imagine it could go on for weeks yet... trying very hard not to get excited but it's difficult!

oooh yeah def sounds like a show to me!

good luck :)

Don't tell anyone Mrs Cog but mine looked like a huge poo. Blush I dragged the midwife into the loo to show her. Sad

That sounds like a show, but there could well be more later.

It means your cervix has opened a bit, so your body is doing something. Probably the start of labour, but this part of labour can certainly go on for weeks - or not Grin

Sorry MrsCog, I think yours definitely sounds hopeful. I had my embarassing show at midnight and had DC1 at 7.30pm that night.

That sounds like my experience of a show

MrsCog · 29/02/2012 19:23

Great thanks everyone! I am prepared for it being a while yet but it does at least sound promising. Will keep you all updated...

Exciting. Grin Are you all prepared?

MrsCog · 29/02/2012 19:50

Yes, I think so, as prepared as you can be for a DC1! Although the baby monitor and tummy tub didn't arrive until this morning, so maybe those arriving have kicked things off!

Ooh - one other question, is it still safe to have sex if you've started losing the plug? I know you can't if your waters have gone, but I can't seem to find any info about if you've had show.
