Could you recommend good private maternity hospitals?

hello to all mums-to-be:) or mums-to-be-for the xxx time:))

I am 9 weeks pregnant and looking a private maternity hospital near Sutton (15-30 mints to drive). Do you have any suggestions? I have been adviced on Kingston hospital (they do have private section), but apart of that - any other to recommend? I am totally new to Sutton and have no one here to ask....

Any suggestions ladies? Any advice on sutton, surrey hospitals? It seems only Kingston hospital can provide private section? I am surprised that there is no more nearby...

This is so sad to hear.....local nhs hospitals are not good at all, I had few friends who delivered their babies in St.Heiler hospital and were so unhappy with the service and sanitary conditions....what do....don't know.....

If you choose to go private in an NHS hospital then surely you'll just get the same staff and perhaps a slightly more nicely decorated room/ward. Is it really much different ?

The only private maternity hospital I've ever heard of is the Portland. Several places have private wings or private postnatal wards/rooms.

Not sure about this - just anecdotal - but I believe that private maternity hospitals still just ship you out to the nearest NHS unit if there is an emergency... even the Portland apparently transfer people to UCH. Is it really worth it then?
