Pain has returned 5 weeks after ELCS

I had my third c-section 5 weeks ago. Have been feeling fine, back to driving, pushing the buggy etc. but in the last couple of days the pain has returned on my incision area.

DH had a look at my external scar last night and said it looks like it's healing really well, pink, not red, no weeping, no signs of infection (I had an infection in my scar after CS2 so he knows what it looks like) but it is really uncomfortable to move about, change postions when sitting/lying down, hurts to walk if I have been sat down for a while.

I haven't had this before, is it something to worry about? Or to be expected do you think? The other thing that concerns me is I woke up at 4am drenched in sweat and boiling hot (on a cold night) and today I feel knackered and fluey.

You should see a doctor today, based on your other symptoms it could be an infection.

Thanks, will ring the dr's when it re-opens after 2. Can you get infections on the scar inside, not the outside?

Yes you can get internal infections. Quite rare, but with all of your symptoms, you need to speak to a doctor.

Thanks belgo, been to see Doc, luckily no infection but back on painkillers and anti-inflammatories and got to take it easy for a while longer.

Oh my goodness I'm exactly the same 5 weeks post ELCS and feel the same after about 2 weeks if feeling "normal" and getting on with things.

Feel like my whole body aches and tired etc.

My scar also looks healed no red at all.

Take it easy then Katy! I made DH sort the DC's out this morning and stayed in bed with the baby. I am crap at 'taking it easy' and I wanted to be back to normal asap but I guess I just have to listen to my body.
