Every baby and every birth is different. Have you considered a homebirth? Probably a good option if you labour that quickly!

I'm not allowed this time (had PPH 1000mls with DD) So they've advised me not to this time.

I had a quick 2nd labour, 2.5hrs from first contraction, my 3rd was a much more sensible 4 hours. Got to the hospital with time to spare. I was worried though.

I didn't consider a home birth because because my first ended in an emergency c/s but I did consider telling them that was what I was planning so that I'd be set up for it at home, but intending to go into hospital if I possibly could.

How likely are longer 2nd time labours?

My 1st was 2hrs 10min from first twinge
2nd was 3hrs 20min from first twinge.
I was convinced number 2 would be quicker but should have known as she was 10days late, so in no hurry!

My 2nd was longer at 38hrs.

First was a mere 31hrs.

My third was 4 hours but fourth was 9. First was 4 days and second was 8 hours.

I'm wondering this too, OP. DS1 was 2hrs from first sign of anything (waters breaking), and arrived after only 45min of labour. But he was born at 36wks so was quite small...

Am nearly 39wks with DC2 so he/she's already bigger, hopefully.

When I had DS, they did say to me 'if you go on to have another one, do consider a home birth!'. The very idea terrifies me...I am much more relaxed in hospital Grin

First was 2.5 hours but I was induced.

Second was 5 hours and much less traumatic!

Yes...DS1 - waters broken 8.30am, DS1 born 10.52 Grin

DS2 - waters broke 7.30pm Sunday evening - DS2 finally sucked out by Mr Ventouse 2.32pm Monday - mind you he has a head like a bowling ball and had been bungy-jumping on my fanjo with the cord wrapped round his neck...Shock

Dd1 - 6 hours
Dd2 - 1 hour
Ds1 - 3 hours
