I had DD within a couple of hours, would like to try birth pool this time (if I have time)... Does it slow down labour loads?

Iwanted the pool with DD but it was busy, and the poor lady who was in there was still 7-8cms by the time i'd got there and had DD.......

So this time I would want to try it, but not sure if i'd risk slowing labour down??

Experiences!

Pool births are relaxing. If you wait until your labour really gets going then they don't slow them down particularly. In fact I've seen the opposite happen.

Oh cool. I mean with DD I started at 4pm, hardly anything. then labour progress very fast. and got to hospital at 6:30 and had her at 8:33. but on my notes even though tey documented as 4hours 22. they then changed it to roughly 2ish hours as once it got going, she came very fast.

Where she came very fast, I ended up hemmoraging 1000mls, (due to no placenta jab, low iron, and also big baby, small mum, hard pushing etc. also my waters didnt break until she was coming out. )

I just want to still have the speedy kind of labour, but more relaxed if possible. it all happened so quick that my body didnt catch up in time!
