Whats all this about 'spontaneous labours' on OBEM?

Last night - the lady having her 5th kept saying how she had been told she had 'spontaneous labours' as though it was some sort of unusual thing that merited mention.

And on the OBEM Facebook page, they say the same thing - 'Meet Halinka, who has spontaneous labours'.

I thought it just meant you went into labour without being induced, ie the same as most women Hmm

I thought the point was she had very fast spontaneous labour which warranted her coming in early on

i think she got it completely wrong and nobody picked up on it.

very fast labour (which she had before) is a precipetous labour which would have made more sense.

but she bobbed around in the pool huffing for what looked like a while before having that baby so it didn't look precipetous.

unless she only counted the bit once her waters went and the baby fell out, which also happens a lot if things are just left alone. often they don't go until the baby's head is out, even if you have been in labout for 12 hours beforehand.

so - I think she just got it wrong.

precipitous = v fast. (can't spell).

but yes. just labouring without interfering induction is 'spontaneous'

I thought the same thing, I think maybe she meant precipitous
