Any chance of MLU after EMCS and VBAC...?

Er, as above - I had EMCS first time (foetal distress) then VBAC with DC2. I have a consultant appt coming up to discuss DC3 birth, incl positioning scan, and not sure what to push for.

Was fully monitored with VBAC so MLU was not an option - am kind of assuming will be the same this time, but wondered if anyone had argued for MLU successfully? The thought of that nice birth pool and comfy chair for DH... tho of course I will do what's best for baby...

Make an appointment to speak to a Supervisor of Midwives. Who will be able to explore the issue with you. Many independent midwives delivery VBAC's at home routinely and you have had a normal delivery since. Monitoring is your choice, which you can make with the midwife's advice.

When they were trying to convince me to have a VBAC after having had a ELCS i was offered the opportunity to have a water birth in the MLU. They just told me that they may not be able to monitor the baby as well as they would have been able to in the CLU. but it was definitely offered to me. Good luck.
