How long for scarring to disappear?

Is it normal to have scarring still nearly 4 months pp? My gynae (and assistants) said I still had some scarring but my perinium looked good. They said my scarring was from the internal tear, and when I remembered to ask the gynae before I left he said it would go with time.

Is this true or will I be scarred forever? Is this what could be causing tenderness? It doesn't hurt badly or anything, just sore when I first sit down sometimes or to touch too rough. I'm also worried they're actually bleeding... not sure as I have irregular bleeding but they seem sore and it seems like when I wipe I notice the blood.. scared in case they've all come undone or infected - would this be possible this far along?!

I had a second degree tear!
