Bright red blood and clots 15 days after birth

Just looking for some reassurance really that this is normal.

I had ds (dc2) 15 days ago, my after birth bleeding was minimal, couple of days of bleeding then more like coloured discharge (sorry TMI).

Very little of anything for a few days now. But while making lunch today I thought I felt something and when I went to the loo I had passed a fair amount of bright red blood with a couple of little clots.

So is it normal to suddenly have blood-loss start again after two weeks? (am ebf-ing and have PCOS so not likely to be a period)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

nope - off to the GP with you. ALthough discharge common, bright red isnt. I had similar after DS2, and was on antibiotics for a week to fix it. My GP said although he couldnt say if it was normal FOR ME, GPs prefer to take a zero tolerance approach to bleeding.

ps you caould also phone your MW and ask.

MW said that it's normal for it to start and stop Hmm that if it was an infection there would be a smell.

Guess I'll just monitor it then.
