Hi. My section has been moved to Friday and a friend has just text to ask if I am already taking arnica. Should I be doing so pre section? If so, how much. And will peppermint toothpaste limit it's effectiveness? Anything else i can do with my 36 remaining hours which will serve me well later? All advice gratefully received. Thanks

I was told by my MW to take it when have op and after (same advice she gave last time for stitches and healed up well). I have just got normal ones (30c?) from chemist but you need to avoid toothpaste or anything but water for half an hour before or after.

Good luck for Friday

I took arnica from two days beforehand- I don't know how much it did but I am now 2 and a half weeks post c section and have no pain, no obvious bruising (and in fact had very little pain throughout). Not sure what I can put this down to though!! Good luck with your c section.

I've always heard of the benefits of arnica homoeopathic pills on stress and nervousness, and in cream form for bruises and as a replacement for muscle pain relief gels, but never for scarring. It's good to know!
